As an independent, Catholic college preparatory school, Malden Catholic High School receives no government resources and no subsidy from the Archdiocese of Boston. Therefore it relies heavily on private support. During the last several years this support has been increasing.

Year after year, the generosity of alumni, Girls Catholic alumnae, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends has helped Malden Catholic High School become what it is today, an outstanding college preparatory school. Finding support to meet the changing needs of a new generation of Malden Catholic students is the major challenge of the Advancement program.

The Malden Catholic Annual Fund is part of an ongoing effort dedicated to securing financial support from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends.  Last year Malden Catholic raised nearly $800,000 in annual fund support that helped enhance student and alumni programming.  Gifts to the annual fund have a tremendous impact on our community.  These dollars go where the needs and opportunities are the greatest.  By joining all who support our annual fund you’ll make an impact that reaches far into the future of Malden Catholic.  To learn more about how you can participate in the Malden Catholic Annual Fund please contact Carolyn Rolfe, Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement, at 781-322-3098 ext.332 or rolfec@maldencatholic.org.

There are two basic categories of funds at Malden Catholic: The Annual Fund and gifts to endowment and capital projects. Together they provide sustenance for the day-to-day workings of the School, all current educational programs, the creation of new programs, faculty development, financial aid for qualified students, and the building and maintenance of facilities.

Gifts can be made in many ways. For the majority of donors, a personal check is the easiest method. Alternatively, there are distinct tax advantages to making a gift of appreciated securities. We also encourage your making a gift or pledge online. Real estate, tangible personal property, life insurance and retirement plans, life income gifts, trusts, and bequests generally fall under the rubric of Planned Giving.

All gifts to Malden Catholic offer the donor varying degrees of tax and financial benefits. Be sure to consult with your personal financial or legal adviser to select the best choice for your particular situation.
