Malden Catholic offers four different levels of learning: College Preparatory, Accelerated, Honors and Advanced Placement (AP). AP courses are reserved for the highest scoring Juniors and Seniors. Students are placed by their High School Placement Test scores and their 7
th and 8
th grade transcripts.

Malden Catholic offers the Brother Kevin program, designed to meet the individual needs of 9th and 10th-grade students whose academic history indicates they would benefit from smaller classes size, individualized instruction and project-based learning. Do Malden Catholic students receive National Merit recognition?
This year, 11 Malden Catholic students were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their achievement in scoring in the top 1 or 2 percent in the nation on the PSAT. This included 3 National Merit Semifinalists, 7 National Merit Commended Students and one National Achievement Scholar. The equates to 7 percent of the senior class.
Does Malden Catholic use SmartBoards?
Malden Catholic installed and implemented Mimeo technology in all classrooms in 2008. Mimeo technology works just like a "SmartBoard," integrating whiteboard, projector and the teacher's wireless laptop for effective presentations.
Malden Catholic is an all boys school. Are there opportunities for the boys to socialize with girls?
Malden Catholic’s Student Council hosts dances and formals throughout the year. Young women are also present at Malden Catholic sporting and extra-curricular events.
What is the tuition and is there financial aid available?
The tuition for the 2013-2014 school year is $13,375. Malden Catholic does offer financial aid to those who qualify. The international student tuition is $18,375 for the 2013-2014 school year. Financial aid is not available to international students (ie., students here on F-1 Visas requiring I-20 certificates).
Is it hard to make a sports team at Malden Catholic?
Malden Catholic offers 13 different sports, all of which have Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels that compete in the Division 1 Catholic Conference. There are some sports that are more competitive than others, however in each season (Fall, Winter and Spring), there is at least one non-cut sport that is open to all of our boys. We also offer intramural athletics.
What other after school activities does MC offer?
Malden Catholic offers more than 30 extra-curricular activities and clubs. We provide something of interest for every young man, and we are also very open to the creation of new clubs.
Eighth Grade High School Placement Test Questions
Can my eighth grade student take the High School Placement test more than once?
Any eighth grade student,
boy or girl, who is considering a Catholic High School
must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The test is offered at Malden Catholic High School and the dates are regulated by the Archdiocese of Boston. Students may
NOT take the test more than once. The choices of test dates for current eighth graders are November 16
th OR December 14
