Transportation Program

Malden Catholic's transportation program has three components.  First, we offer a private bus service through LBK Transportation Company.  Second, we offer the use of SchoolPool, a web site that is available through our main web page (http://www.maldencatholic.org) which allows parents to find and sign up for available car pools in their area.  Lastly, we offer discount MBTA passes ($25.00 per month) for the use of public transportation.

WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE?

Buses

The following is a summary of the bus service we offer.   We will determine the exact times, and stops based on the demand for this service. The routes, vehicle size, and costs associated are based on the number of students that register for the program.  Morning departure from the first stop will be around 6:30 AM with an arrival time of about 7:15 AM to MC. The current routes are listed below.

  • Route A leaves Applebee's Restaurant at the Liberty Tree Mall, Danvers, at 6:30 am and moves along to Route 128 to Route 1 and stops at the Eastern Bank at 808 Salem Street, Lynnfield, and departs at 6:50 am.  The bus continues along Route 1 and stops at the entrance to the Square One Mall in Saugus and departs at 7:00 am, then arriving at Malden Catholic.

  • Route B departs the Burlington Mall (in front of Nordstroms) , 75 Middlesex Tpke, Burlington, MA at 6:15am and then travels to the mini-mall at the intersection of Route 38 and 129, 35 Lowell Street, Wilmington and departs at 6:35 AM. The bus will travel down Route 93 to 36 Montvale Ave. (at the overhang) in Stoneham and departs at 6:50am, then arrives at Malden Catholic at 7:10am.

  • Departing Routes: The afternoon school buses will leave Malden Catholic at 5:15 pm.  The routes will run in reverse from the morning schedule.

The cost of the service will be $800.00 per student for the year. The service will be offered on a first come first serve basis.  A request form and deposit will be due August 10, 2013. Families will then be billed in two installments. The first bill will be mailed in October and the second bill will be sent in March. As we fill the vehicles on each route, we will establish a waiting list. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Matt O'Neil at 781-475-5308.

Public Transportation - Malden Catholic is located in a unique area of the city. We are very accessible by public transportation! Visit the MBTA website for detailed routes, schedules and passes.

There are also a number of MBTA buses that drive by the school within a couple blocks. You can also take the MBTA's Orange Line or Commuter Rail.

From Sullivan Square, Orange Line:

Car pooling - MC is participating in SchoolPool, a web-based service parents can use to set up carpools with other MC families in their cities and towns. Parents or students can register online with SchoolPool and receive a personalized list matching you to other families in your immediate area to make contact via email. Participants are identified by an identification number and zip code so that it is not necessary to reveal personal information online. The service is free to our parents.
